Outlook blocked access to the following potentially unsafe attachments


Problem: Outlook is not allowing to access the attached document. Here is the simple way to unblock attachments.

Solution: Follow the steps:
1. Make sure Outlook is closed.
2. Open Registry editor (how?)
3. Jump to following key respective to your Outlook version


Outlook 2000
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\9.0\Outlook\Security]
Outlook 2002
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\10.0\Outlook\Security]
Outlook 2003;
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\11.0\Outlook\Security]
Outlook 2007
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Outlook\Security]
Outlook 2010
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\14.0\Outlook\Security]
Outlook 2013
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Outlook\Security]


4. While security key is selected 
Go to edit->new->String value
Give it following name. Do mind case sensitivity.

Level1Remove

5. Now right click on newly created string and click modify and enter the extension you wish to unblock.
e.g. 

.exe
Do include dot(.) before the extension
In case you wish to unblock multiple extensions, separate them all with semi colon(;) 
e.g.

.exe;.jar;.reg;.bat;.mp4

6. Click Ok and close the registry editor.

7. Now next time you open Outlook, all extensions you mentioned in step 5 won't be blocked.
