WebSocket connection failure : Neo4J

Problem:

Faced below error while connecting to Neo4J Community instance hosted in AWS EC2

ServiceUnavailable: WebSocket connection failure. Due to security constraints in your web browser, the reason for the failure is not available to this Neo4j Driver. Please use your browsers development console to determine the root cause of the failure. Common reasons include the database being unavailable, using the wrong connection URL or temporary network problems. If you have enabled encryption, ensure your browser is configured to trust the certificate Neo4j is configured to use. WebSocket `readyState` is: 3

Issue:

On hitting the URL for the first time "https://X.X.X.X:7473/browser/"
Browser complains about SSL certificates and I went ahead by adding the exception in case the browser is Firefox

Which presented the login box. But after filling details and hitting the button "Connect".  I was getting the above-mentioned error.

Reason:

Because we are connecting to different port and protocol, it's giving again certificate error.

Solution:

Try hitting the URL with the port used for bolt protocol i.e. in a new tab hit the URL "https://X.16.36.117:7687/"

You will be again presented with the same SSL certificate error.
Go ahead and add the exception.

After which I saw below message:

"not a WebSocket handshake request: missing upgrade"

For sure as this port is not listening to http requests.

Now try again connecting through the login box.
This time I got authenticated successfully.

XAML not updating on debugging

Problem: Experienced a frustrating issue today. XAML was not updating while debugging on emulator or real Windows Phone device. Rebuilding again and then debugging was helping a bit but doing two steps each time was some what cumbersome. Finally got the issue which was really stupid.

Solution: The problem was that my project name was having a space in its name. Get rid of that space and you will end up having XAML updates automatically without rebuilding before debugging.

Bitmap too large to be uploaded into a texture

Problem: “Bitmap too large to be uploaded into a texture”Got this error when I tried to run an application from eclipse to physical device.
On googling, found that it relates to some size limit of image for OpenGL hardware textures (2048x2048). But that wasn't the reason in my case. Actually in my case, image was less than 2048 for both x and y dimensions.

Analysis: I found that image was in drawable folder and Android system assumes drawable as mdpi and then take decision for scaling them down or up according to other resolutions.

Solution: Moved image to new folder named drawable-nodpi and the problem gone.

Solved: Your PC needs to restart. Please hold down the power button.

Problem : Got an error, while trying to install Windows 8.1 on Oracle VM VirtualBox Manager.

Your PC needs to restart.
Your PC needs to restart.

Environment :
Host OS : Windows 7 Professional.
Oracle VM VirtualBox Manager v4.1.6 r74713
Guest OS : Windows 8.1 Professional.

Analysis : Finding solution for this problem, I found that I need to enable VT-x/AMD-V option in BIOS. I did the same but in vain. Further searching continued. Next finding was that I need to enable "No execute Memory Protection" or "Execute Disabled Bit" under CPU configuration in BIOS again. But this time I couldn't find this option.

I did also try firing following command in VirtualBox installation directory. But even this didn't help me.

VBoxManage.exe setextradata [vmname] VBoxInternal/CPUM/CMPXCHG16B 1

Where vmname can be found by following command
VBoxManage.exe list vms

So up till now nothing worked! :(
But finally got it Solved.
I found that the version of Oracle VirtualBox I am using does not have support for Windows 8.1.
I downloaded the latest(v4.3.6 r91406)  version and selected version in guest OS setting as follows
VirtualBox Settings
VirtualBox Settings
Note : I also enabled PAE/NX option under processor tab of guest OS settings.
Did it work for you?

Firefox error : not well-formed

Today I was working with jQuery AJAX request and got an error in Firefox's JavaScript console saying "not well-formed".

Actually I was returning HTML code for a drop-down from server.

Following solution worked for me.

I altered my AJAX request as follows :

$.ajax({ url: "http://abc.com/", beforeSend: function ( xhr ) { xhr.overrideMimeType("text/plain; charset=x-user-defined");
} }).done(function ( data ) {
console.log('Data Received!!');
});

Did this save your day?

Error : Error applying transforms. Verify that the specified transform paths are valid ?

Try browsing the registry (Start > Run > regedit > OK) to the following value:
Code:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Classes\Installer\Products\<ProductSQUID>\

'ProductSQUID' is the ID of the Software.

You'll have to go through the whole list.

Look for 'transform' entry on the registry key that could be created by the installer.
Check if this entry is pointing to a valid Windows installation drive (where Windows is installed, most often the C: drive), and if not, change it.
In my case, I just removed it and error gone, Whats your case?
Did it help?

Can not assign requested address / Unable to set static ip

Fedora uses two different methods to control network cards. 1) Network Manager. 2) Network Configurations.

By default fedora uses Network Manager. But the disadvantage of using Network Manager is that we can not use static ip address.
So in order to use we need to stop/disable Network Manager, for this follow the command
>To Stop
service NetworkManager stop
>To Disable permanently
chkconfig NetworkManager off

Now restart you network as follows
service network restart
To start network with every boot
chkconfig network on
