So I got this error while Visual Studio's debug process was trying to connect to the emulator.
Please follow a two step solution for this problem:
First of all go to the following directory
C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft SDKs\Windows Phone\v8.0\Emulation
Now right click on images folder
then click on Advanced
on popup screen UNCHECK "Compress contents to save disk space"
That is it!
Environment : Windows 8 64 bit 6Gb. Visual Studio Express 2012.
