Why can’t we Change the Security Question on Facebook ?
As per the Facebook Help Center, Facebook quotes the reason behind this step as :
We want to make sure that your account and the information in it stays safe, so once you set up a security question on your account there’s no way to update it. Sorry for the inconvenience.
The above lines are quoted by Facebook on Changing Security Question on Facebook.
But i have found a strange way to change your facebook account's security question,
it only works if you already the answer to your security question.
so basic idea behind this trick is that just show to them (facebook) that your account is not secure any more by hacking your account yourself and then they will give you chance to update your answer that's it.
so below is the step by step instructions
Step 1 show them your account isn't secure anymore
For this first go to facebook.com and click on Forgot your password?
and then on the below screen enter your email or username then click on search
when they found you, on below screen click on This is My Account
Then on next screen fill in the correct captcha and click on submit
On next screen click on "No longer have access to these"
On next screen they'll ask you for a new email-id, enter email-id and click on submit
Next they will ask you current answer to security question, enter it and click on submit
On next screen enter new password (but do remember your old password for this trick)
Once your password is updated on previous screen open one more tab in your browser open facebook.com. but don't login until you read next step
Till now you have just changed your password with the help of your security question's answer.
now you will act like "hey it wasn't me, i didn't changed my password, i think i am hacked !!!"
so on previous screen login with your old password, below screen should appear.
just click on "That wasn't me"
Then on next screen secure your account, click on continue (this screen may be different in some cases)
On next screen, create new password (remember this one lols !!)
now click on continue . . .
select your email and click on submit . . .
check "Only I know the password for *******"
(change your email account's password if needed)
click on continue
Don't wanna remove any app you use one facebook just click on continue
BINGO !!!
Here comes the screen you were waiting for
now you can change your security question and answer
update it and click on submit
your account is unlocked Now You Can Log In
Login with your updated password
I have already tested this trick on my account on 20th April 9-10pm, and yes one thing to note,
these screens usually comes on first time,
next time you try it will ask you to suggest them 3 three trusted friends so that they can send codes to them, then you have to get those codes from those selected friends in order to get verified.
and one other way they use is to verify you is that they will ask you to login from same computer you used some days back(they will mention that computer) or give them your identity proof like (Passport, Driving License etc)
Be careful and be happy take care . . .
